Yeah, I had it mailed and getting the download. 2-4 weeks in the mail, 423 hours left to download. It did go up into the 200s kb/sec for a minute or two. Getting 66kb/sec, 13 hours now. This makes me sad. -- Robert Firth

If you try it without the DM, it will go up to about 40 megs and stop. Try getting a 3rd party DM, its working for me, I'm at about 120 megs right now. LOL

Yeah, I've tried both. With Firefox, it gets a percent or two, then it stops and then it says it's done after only a percent or two, so either way, you're not going to get good luck right now. The most I've been able to do right now is 2% before having an issue. I hope it's more stable tomorrow. "Tom Ziegmann" wrote in message

Save $6? No, you have to pay $4 for shipping and $0.40 in taxes, so thats $10.40 I believe -- Robert Firth

It has crapped out at 512kb for me when using Firefox. Using IE is no better. I am either going to have to resort to a torrent of this or something because this is ridiculous. Telling me to check my connection, pfft. MS needs to rethink this Akamai deal and just use a modified Bit Torrent client, ffs.

With 3rd party DM, it does 4 or 5 megs, stops, says "Server Error" and you can just press resume and it will continue, stop, and continue this process. So basically you have to be right beside the comp all the time. Wont work if you try to put it for download at night and go to sleep. Trust me.

That's no difference to the 'behavior' of the download manager offered by Microsoft.

The servers have been overloaded. Order the dvd while you continue to attempt the download.

I went through the steps to install the DM in order to d/l Vista but am now greeted with the following error message when DM attempts to d/l:
"Network error, cannot download. Check connections and try again. Would you like to retry now?"
Regardless of the time of day ot how many times I select Retry, DM will simply not work.
Ideas? Thanks!
I had the same problem and choose to download using my own download manger

My only problem with that is that I can never get the link to connect!
